Designed for ease and safety. Our new villas are inclusive of everyone. The features we have built in to cater for elderly and infirm or people with special needs or families with young children make them safer and more enjoyable all round. Although situated on a hillside, all the main and essential facilities are easily accessible without stairs. The car setdown point, swimming pool, main terrace, balconies and all the living quarters are generally on the same level with, at most, a single low step (going in or out of the house for instance). At Villa Achilles there is a gentle ramp to go from terrace to pool.   There is a single floor level throughout the villa interiors. Showers have an easily negotiated, small, smooth upstand to retain water.   Toilets and showers are roomy and equipped with sturdy grab rails.   Floor tiles are textured for maximum grip when wet. But take note, there is no such thing as a truly non-slip tile and care still has to be taken around the pool and showers.   The swimming pool has a very gently sloping shallow end so youngsters and non-swimmers have plenty of room to get in and cool down and will be able to judge when they are getting out of their depth. Also there are convenient underwater steps (at the shallow end) in addition to the usual vertical metal stepladder to get in and out.   The poolside access from the house is gated so toddlers are not able to wander alone into danger. There is a gate too onto a set of exterior stairs (leading down to a lower sunbathing patio and shaded games area). With these gates securely closed, toddlers can safely roam throughout the house and the surrounding terraces and balconies.   Safety aids are provided which include poolside grab pole and rescue rings, fire extinguishers, kitchen fire blanket, toilet and shower grab handles, drawer and cupboard childproof latches. Also, if you do have a minor accident, a well stocked first aid kit is at hand.   Finally, if you are proud new parents of a baby there is a high sided cot available on request. For kids a little older, a high chair and if you want to be sure your toddler is safe while you siester, we will provide a playpen. So if dad uses a wheelchair, grandma and grandpa want to come along, little Daren has just started to walk and is into everything and young Debbie is learning to swim, we think we have done our best to provide an environment which works for everyone - so you can all enjoy a great holiday!
